She recently revealed that with minimal studying and a whole lot of creativity, she managed to secure a radio job on Dembe FM, which kickstarted her career.

Years ago, Ssenga Justine Nantume was given the chance to present for 15 minutes at Dembe FM. Instead of sticking to a conventional script, she decided to take a risk and freestyle her presentation.

She expresses how she was armed with a quick wit and a knack for humour, which impressed everyone in the room and left them in pure laughter and wonder.

Instead of stopping at the assigned 15 minutes, she continued to captivate listeners with her funny anecdotes, whistles, stories, and infectious energy for a whopping 25 minutes. Her dedication and passion for entertaining were undeniable, and this was the genesis of her securing a place at the station.

Ssenga Justine Nantume’s exceptional presentation didn’t go unnoticed. The boss at Dembe FM was thoroughly impressed by her talent and offered her a job on the spot.

Not only that, but she also received the incredible perk of a car to pick her up from home every day, making her transition into the radio industry even smoother.

I was then taken to the boss who offered me a job on spot. She said I would be working on the morning show with Bina Beibe and when I explained how I couldn’t make it so early since I used to stay at a distance, she offered a company car to always pick me every morning.
