Singer Shamim Murerwa, publicly known as Omega 256, opened up about how she was involved in a toxic relationship that she could not get out of a few years back.

Speaking to Mwasuze Mutya show host, Omega 256 disclosed that she faced the rough patch of being in a toxic relationship during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic lockdown that sent the world to its knees.

The “This Year” singer stressed that she couldn’t get out of the toxic relationship by then because she had nowhere to go at the time.

However, when the situation eased, she left the relationship and relocated to Kampala where she started staying with a friend.

I found myself in a toxic relationship, one of those situations you know aren’t good for you, yet you still stay. This all happened during the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The moment restrictions eased, I immediately left for Kampala.

Her stay in Kampala was not also a walk in the park since the friend whom she had shifted to would sometimes go hungry and contemplated returning to Mbarara.

When I arrived in Kampala, I stayed with a friend. Her mother believed we could take care of ourselves, so she provided breakfast but expected us to provide ourselves with lunch. We often went hungry and I considered returning to Mbarara.
