She profoundly explains that it is not just a fashion statement but a tribute to a fateful night that changed her life forever.

Peace Diane Bagala was with her friends, innocently returning from school one evening, when they encountered the notorious Mukono 11 gang.

The gang, known for their heinous acts, unleashed a wave of terror upon them. Tragically, her friends fell victim to the unimaginable while Peace narrowly escaped the same fate because she was dressed like a tomboy.

In the aftermath of that traumatic night, Peace found empowerment in her choice to dress like a tomboy.

She strongly believes that her fashion sense is a powerful tribute to the clothes she wore that night, which unknowingly became her shield of protection and a trend she carries until today.

I don’t want to imagine how I would have been if I had been sexually molested by those rowdy boys too like my friends. It was a terrifying moment..so when you see me dress the way I do, I am only paying tribute to the clothes I wore that night I survived.
