Kenyan singer Bien, a member of the popular Sauti Sol band, reveals how the start of his music career was greatly inspired by Ugandan music.

At a performance at the Kampala Serena Hotel, Bien-Aimé Baraza received yet another warm welcome from his Ugandan fans.

He has always been a darling for many music fans in Uganda and he is grateful because his career too has a special connection with the +256.

While at the ‘A Night With Bien’ concert, Bien noted how it is Ugandan music that inspired him to become an artist as well.

He then expressed how much he loves Ugandan music and how much impact Ugandans have had on the music industry across the continent.

It was mostly Ugandan music that made me the musician that I am today. I am grateful for your existence as a country and as a people, and for what you’ve done for this continent. I love you.

Bien

Bien has previously worked with a couple of Ugandan artists including Bebe Cool on “Mbozi Za Malwa” and Joshua Baraka on the remix of his breakthrough song “Nana”.

Josh Ruby is an Editor with high interest and knowledge in the Ugandan entertainment space, an industry he has been actively part of since 2010. Leads to breaking stories are welcome!
