The Honorable John Mulimba, Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, held a productive discussion with Her Excellency Ester Kazadi, Senior Minister and Minister-Delegate in charge of International Cooperation and Francophonie of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The two counterparts addressed the pressing issue of the arrested fishermen and proposed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at initiating bilateral sessions.

Following his meeting with Senior Minister Kazadi, Honorable Mulimba met with Didier Mazenga Makanzu, DRC’s Minister of Regional Integration. Both ministers emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts and insecurity issues on Lakes Albert and Edward.

Subsequently, Honorable Mulimba, accompanied by members of the Ugandan embassy, visited a Ugandan company operating in the DRC, which specializes in exporting food supplies from Uganda. The minister and the Ugandan ambassador to the DRC commended the manager and her team for their efforts to promote Ugandan products and support bilateral trade between the two nations.

The minister and ambassador concluded by encouraging other Ugandan suppliers to explore opportunities in the DRC and consider expanding their business activities in the country.
