Zambia head coach, Ian Bakala says his team is well prepared to square against the Golden Eaglets in their opening game at the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
Bakala’s side is the underdogs in Group B which also has Morocco and South Africa.
The Zambians have only qualified for the U-17 AFCON once and didn’t make it beyond the group stage on that occasion.
Coming up against the Golden Eaglets, who are one of the pre- tournament’s favourites will not be an easy task but the gaffer is confident they can get the job done.
“History has to be broken. This is the time to take Zambia up and make our name stronger,” Bakala was quoted by CAFonline.
” We are here on a mission and the mission has to be complete. We might be the underdogs but we will show that we can also compete.”
Sunday’s (today) encounter is slated for the Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui, Constantine. Kick-off is 5pm Nigerian time.
