Flying Eagles winger, Jude Sunday says it was important for the Flying Eagles to finish their campaign at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations on a winning note.

Ladan Bosso’s side bounced back from the disappointment of missing out on a place in the final by claiming third position at the expense of Tunisia.

The record champions were at their devastating best thrashing the Young Carthage Eagles 4-0 at the Cairo International Stadium.

Sunday scored twice in the victory after he was handed his first start of the competition by Bosso.

It was the third time the Flying Eagles won a bronze medal at the U-20 AFCON.

“We lost the semi-final even though we played better so it was important to win and we thank god for the victory,” Sunday was quoted by CAFonline.

The Flying Eagles will now shift attention to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup coming up in May in Indonesia
