Results from the governorship election from three out of the 16 local government areas of Taraba State announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kefas Agbu, is in an early lead.
The results showed PDP is leading with a wide margin of votes in the three councils of Ardo-Kola, Lau and Zing.
Though results from no fewer than thirteen councils are still being expected, DAILY POST learnt that the PDP candidate has taken an early lead in most of the LGAs.
The Returning Officer, Professor Mohammed Ahmad Abdullaziz, announced the results for the three LGAs at the INEC coalition centre on Sunday in Jalingo, the state capital.
PDP polled 20, 182 votes, 13, 368 votes and 15, 034 votes respectively in Lau, Zing and Ardo-Kola.
Agbu is closely trailed by Professor Sani Yahaya, the candidate New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate, who scored 2, 919 votes in Zing, 14, 577 votes in Ardo-Kola and 10, 196 votes in Lau.
