Spice Diana, born Namukwaya Hajara Diana, has revealed her perspective on religion and why she has two different religious names.

The singer shared that her religious beliefs are a blend of influences from both Islam and Christianity. This duality comes from her family background.

I was baptized as Diana by my dad, but when I grew up, my mother put me in a Muslim family with my stepdad, who named me Hajara.

Raised in a Muslim environment with her step dad until Senior Three, Spice Diana adopted many Islamic traditions.

However, when her mother separated with her step dad, she leaned more towards her mother’s Catholic faith.

I have grown to take the Muslim more because it’s where I have spent the most time, and having the name Hajara, I find myself driven towards the Muslim side.

Now an adult, Spice Diana admits she grapples with her dual religious identity.

I left my faith between myself and God. I talk to God in my own way that I understand, without a selective religion.
