The National Resistance Movement Parliamentary Caucus convened at State House, Entebbe today, endorsing critical legislation aimed at streamlining government operations and expenditures. The meeting, chaired by Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua, was attended by key members of the caucus and led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The primary focus of the session was the Rationalisation of Government Agencies and Public Expenditure. The caucus, following a detailed presentation by President Museveni, expressed strong support for the proposed bills under RAPEX. These bills are designed to streamline government agencies and include provisions for a three-year transitional period for the Uganda Coffee Development Authority and the National Information Technology Authority, Uganda.
In his keynote address, President Museveni emphasized the importance of the RAPEX initiative in enhancing efficiency within government institutions. The caucus, after thorough deliberation resolved to back the legislative measures that will soon be presented to Parliament.
