The streets of Kampala and Entebbe buzzed with anticipation on Wednesday afternoon as a convoy with SafeBoda riders, dancers, rollerbladers and flag-bearers made their way to the Airport to receive reggae and dancehall royalty Dexta Daps.
The Jamaican superstar is in the country for his first visit ever to Africa to headline the electrifying experience known as the Noise Nation concert happening this Saturday.
The excitement was palpable on Dexta’s arrival as he was received with a fragrant bouquet and a special Uganda Waragi Lemon & Ginger hamper for a taste of the country’s full and welcoming spirit.
This first-ever Noise Nation experience aims to capture the essence of Ugandan culture in all its color, flavor and energy.
The festival grounds at Lugogo Cricket Oval are set to be transformed with dazzling art installations, food stalls to tantalize the taste buds and a fiery fashion scene to unfold for a full sensory explosion.
On the music side, Dexta Daps won’t be doing this alone. Uganda’s finest musical talents including Swangz All-Stars, John Blaq, Ava Peace and many more, will also grace the stage for a unique fusion of international and local sounds.
A press conference is slated for later today to give further details about the concert followed by an exclusive meet and greet where a few selected fans will get a chance to connect with the dancehall superstar.
This Saturday, the Lugogo Cricket Oval gates open at 2 PM and the party kicks off.
So, grab your tickets from Flexipay, Quicket or by dialling *291, dust off those dancing shoes and get ready to experience the Noise Nation.
