Mikie Wine, a member of the famous Ssentamu family, opened up about the source of their riches, addressing common misconceptions surrounding their financial success.
According to Mikie Wine, many people mistake their visibility in the limelight for immense wealth. He clarifies that while the family is doing well, they are far from being as wealthy as some might think.
Mikie Wine attributes their success to the values instilled in them by their father, who emphasized the importance of building solid foundations.
“Our father always taught us not to build castles in the air; castles are built on the ground,” Mikie Wine says.
He further explains that many overlook the years of effort the Ssentamu family has put into their hustles.
The assumption that the family’s wealth is solely due to Bobi Wine’s involvement in politics is, according to Mikie Wine, misguided.
I recall I was paid Shs30,000 for my first show in Senior Six. When Bobi Wine asked where I was coming from, I told him it was from a music show. I said I was saving to buy a car, and he didn’t think I meant it. But I saved up to Shs3 million and bought my first car.
