The deceased have been identified as Adam Balyejusa, 27; Abdul Kharim Walugembe, 42; Abass Yiga, 45; and an unidentified male adult.
Preliminary findings indicate that a vehicle No. UAQ108W/UAY 227P M/BENZ trailer was heading to Kampala from Gulu, and upon reaching Kikoona Trading Centre, it crossed to the opposite lane and struck a vehicle registered under UBL345A (a Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter) and killed four people on the spot.
Others including Samuel Muwonge was left injured.
Regional Police Spokesman, Sam Twineamaziima, said in a statement Sunday that upon police getting the information, they responded in time, visited the scene and documented it, rushed to Nakasongola HCIV for treatment, and later referred it to Mulago referral hospital. The bodies were taken to Nakasongola HCIV mortuary for postmortem examination.
By press time, both vehicles were still on scene pending a big breakdown.
