Shakira Shakiraa claps back at Phina Mugerwa Masanyalaze’s accusations of nudity promotion

Shakira Shakiraa has responded to allegations made by Phina Mugerwa Masanyalaze, the Vice Chairperson of the Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC), who accused her and other female artists of promoting nudity and obscenity in their performances.

Shakira claims that Phina’s comments come from jealousy over the current generation of female musicians and their confidence in embracing their bodies.

Phina, while announcing UNCC’s move to shadow ban songs by Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo for vulgarity, mentioned that female musicians such as Shakira Shakiraa, Gloria Bugie, and Ritah Danchall, who engage in nudity, would also face scrutiny.

However, Shakira dismissed the criticism, arguing that Phina is not in a position to judge others’ morality given her own past.

Shakira said that after reviewing Phina’s music career, she discovered that the former artist wasn’t as morally upright as she portrays herself to be now.

She accused Phina of modeling her career after Colombian superstar Shakira, adopting provocative dances, revealing outfits, and a lifestyle that wasn’t widely accepted in Uganda at the time.

I think she’s just jealous of the young, sexy, and beautiful musicians. When I decided to pay attention to her accusations, I realized she wasn’t as holy as she claims to be.

She idolized Colombian singer Shakira—her dances, dress code, and lifestyle weren’t plausible either. The difference is that Ugandans have embraced us now, and we are earning, unlike her.

Eddy Kenzo criticizes UNCC’s ban on Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo’s music

The President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, Eddy Kenzo, has spoken out against the Uganda National Cultural Centre’s (UNCC) decision to call for a ban on Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo’s music, including their live performances.

Kenzo criticized the move, describing it as illegal and unfair to the artists.

However much someone makes a mistake, you have to learn how to handle them. First and foremost, they are musicians who might be going through some issues that people don’t know about, but someone wakes up one day and just decides to embarrass them and ban their music. It’s not right.

The BET award-winning artist said that instead of taking drastic measures like banning their music, UNCC should consider alternative approaches such as issuing warnings or having private discussions with the artists to address their concerns.

Kenzo also responded to the Katikkiro’s critique of vulgar lyrics in some Luganda songs, stating that as a cultural leader, the Katikkiro is within his rights to call for decency in music.

However, Kenzo suggested a more constructive solution, urging the Katikkiro to meet with the affected artists and give them an opportunity to apologize.

It’s important to first call up these artists and issue warnings than going about banning their music or embarrassing them in public.

Fauziah Nakiboneka reflects on her school journey and her disinterest in politics

Fauziah Nakiboneka, a renowned The Ebonies actress, opened up about her inspiring school journey that was filled with challenges, growth, and triumph.

She shared how she often switched schools and sometimes skipped classes during her lower primary level.

Despite facing hardships from a tender age, she also wonders how she managed to score twelve (12) aggregates in her Primary Leaving Examinations (P.L.E).

When she joined high school for her Ordinary Level education, she also triumphed in the Uganda Certificate Education (U.C.E), scoring 18 aggregates.

Being among the top four female performers, her teachers, especially the Deputy teacher of her school, Mr. Ssenkumba, thought he was grooming a future politician but Fauziah chose Drama.

Speaking about whether she has any plans of joining politics, Fauziah expressed a little bit of interest citing how many artists have joined the field but also noted that she has some dislike for politics.

When I visited my former school, our Deputy Mr. Ssenkumba said he thought he was raising another Kadaga then I ended up in drama with my good grades. He was disappointed.

However, I can still achieve the dream of being one because so many artists have crossed to that side but I hate politics.

Victor Kamenyo opens up about the financial strain on his relationship with baby mama Ruth Akoragye

Victor Kamenyo opens up about his breakup with baby mama Ruth Akoragye, revealing how financial sacrifices, including taking loans, strained their relationship.

The rapper shared that his efforts to sustain their relationship often went unappreciated, leaving him feeling unfulfilled and undervalued.

When you love someone too much, you end up doing things for them that you shouldn’t. You can take up a loan and buy her a car to make her happy. She can hold a more expensive phone than yours.

He described situations where he would give her Shs 500,000 for upkeep, only for the money to vanish on luxuries such as wigs, nails, and cosmetics, alongside transport and data expenses.

According to him, this pattern of spending often left her asking for more, which he found frustrating.

Kamenyo lamented that despite his sacrifices, women often fail to appreciate such gestures. He went on to express his belief that this kind of expensive lifestyle can hinder a man’s development.

Women are unappreciative no matter how much you do for them.

Dokta Brain reveals swap of hit songs between Sheebah Karungi and Fille Mutoni (Watch)

Songwriter Dokta Brain reveals how he intentionally swapped Beera Nange and Sabula between Sheebah Karungi and Fille Mutoni, a move that turned out to be a “blessing in disguise.”

Dokta Brain shared that Sheebah’s hit song Beera Nange was originally intended for Fille, while Fille’s Sabula was initially crafted for Sheebah.

However, he decided to make a switch and gave each artist the other’s song.

I wrote Beera Nange aiming to give it to Fille and Sabula aiming to give it to Sheebah, but I intentionally switched them. It was a mistake that turned into a blessing.

The decision was driven by a strategic vision for both artists’ musical journeys. At the time, Fille lacked a dancehall vibe in her music catalog, while Sheebah had not explored the softer, more emotional sound that Beera Nange offered.

Fille didn’t have a dancehall song, and Sheebah didn’t have a calm, sweet-like song, so I made the decision.
