Levixone eyes African market with new album

For his next album which he is already working on, celebrated Ugandan gospel artist Levixone wants to spread his wings to West Africa.

In his successful career, Levixone has already performed in different parts of the world, including Europe and parts of Africa.

He, however, believes West Africa is yet to show him the love he deserves and he has hit the studio to work on an album with an aim of penetrating the market in West Africa.

To achieve that, Levixone says he is dedicating a lot of time to the quality of sound and he has paid attention to the thinnest of details.

Gospel musician Levixone has revealed that he is working on a new album, which is set to be released in the near future.

The album is expected to feature a couple of other singers and producers, some from other African countries.

I don’t want to say that my previous album, The Kosovo Boy, wasn’t professional, but we didn’t dedicate enough time to it. This time, we’ve put in a lot of effort because I want it to reach all of Africa,” he said during an interview with a local television station.

I want people to connect my face to my name. I think my name is already recognized in gospel music, but now I want at least four of my songs to play across West Africa. I’ve worked on some beautiful collaborations with artists from Uganda and around the world.

UCC to deport international artists who promote explicit content, says Nyombi Thembo

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has vowed to take firm action against international artists promoting explicit content and might start deporting them if they break the rules.

The move is aimed at protecting Ugandan audiences, particularly children, from harmful material.

In a statement made to the press in Kampala on Tuesday, UCC Executive Director, Mr. Nyombi Thembo, emphasized the need for stricter regulation of the entertainment industry in Uganda.

I was shocked to learn that an event unfolded over the weekend featuring explicit content. After sharing about it with a friend, I realized it was truly disturbing. This incident highlights the urgency of having tighter regulations to protect our audiences.

UCC’s crackdown is not only focused on local musicians but also targets international artists whose performances or content contain vulgarity.

The Commission is working with intelligence agencies to deport these artists and extradite them, holding promoters accountable for hosting such events.

We are committed to protecting our culture and values. Promoting such material violates our laws and erodes the integrity of our society.

To streamline the process of obtaining permits for compliant content creators, Mr. Thembo announced plans to introduce a system that would allow applicants to secure permits within three hours.

Viboyo Oweyo: Music is for listeners, not TikTok trends

Viboyo Oweyo has made it clear that his music is not meant for TikTok or viral dance challenges but for those who truly appreciate the art of music.

For Viboyo, it’s all about creating sounds that speak to the listeners, not just to the trend-driven masses.

My music is not for TikTok. It is for people who listen attentively, word for word. The TikTok audience may be into dancing and challenges, but my music is for the listeners. That is the difference.

As the music industry continues to be dominated by TikTok-driven trends, Viboyo chooses to use a different approach.

You will not find an album as interesting as mine. I want to create music that will last for years.

Viboyo also holds firm values when it comes to the content of his music. While many artists might include explicit language and vulgarity to gain attention, Viboyo refuses to follow that trend.

I cannot include vulgarity. While vulgarity may be a trend, I do not follow trends. I make music that I believe will endure, something many artistes today have failed to achieve.

For those eagerly awaiting to see Viboyo perform live, the artist teased an upcoming concert, hinting at exciting plans in the works.

I have a concert in plan, and I will let the world know when the time is right.
