After over a week in Luzira prison, singer Alien Skin whose real name is Patrick Mulwana, has been granted bail for cases of causing grievous harm to security and medical personnel of Nsambya Hospital earlier this month.

Alien Skin together with his bodyguard Julius “Julio” Mugabi appeared again at Makindye Magistrates Court on Thursday 28th November 2024 for the second hearing of their bail application which was denied on Monday.

In the court session which was flooded with members of the press and the singer’s fans, the judge ruled that the sureties presented by Alien Skin were substantial and hence he was granted bail.

The judge set conditions including not leaving the country without permission of the court. She also warned them against interfering with the victims in person or on social media.

The accused have been asked to pay a Ugx1M cash bail and Ugx5m for their sureties. The case is set to return to the court on 13th January 2025.

The Fangone Forest boss, alongside his gang, is accused of attacking Nsambya Hospital and beating up security guards and a doctor while demanding a medical report for their deceased comrade. Joram Tumwesigye.

The news of Alien being granted bail has stirred a debate online with his fans celebrating his freedom. Critics, however, continue to demand justice for the victims.

Police earlier confirmed that Alien’s team was in talks with the team from Nsambya Hospital to settle the matter out of court.

TikTok hawker Madubarah UG further remanded to Kigo Prison for hate speech and malicious content

Juma Musuuza, a 27-year-old shoe hawker known as Madubarah UG on TikTok, has been further remanded to Kigo Prison until December 13.

This follows his appearance before the Entebbe Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of hate speech and spreading malicious information about Uganda’s First Family and Speaker Anita Among.

Prosecutors allege that Madubarah used his TikTok account to post content deemed offensive toward President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, his son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and other figures linked to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Court heard that in October, Madubarah, while in Wakiso District, shared videos and posts criticising President Museveni’s rumoured succession plans.

If Museveni hands over power to his drunkard son, the country will be destroyed within two days. Let Ugandans pray for our country and ourselves.

Madubarah UG is also accused of targeting Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, stating, “If Muhoozi takes over power from his father, the country will be destroyed within two days according to how he drinks. Whoever talks, we shall kill or arrest you.”

Additionally, he is alleged to have made disrespectful remarks about Speaker Anita Among, claiming, “…using taxpayers’ money to build a mansion which is better than State House and buying bleaching jelly [chemicals].”

Despite efforts by his legal team to secure bail, the court ordered Madubarah to be further remanded, citing the need for more time to prepare for the next hearing. He is now set to return to court on December 13, when his bail application will also be reviewed.

David Lutalo has publicly spoken out in defence of Alien Skin, who is facing assault and robbery charges.

Alien Skin is set to appear in court today for a bail hearing regarding the allegations.

Lutalo, while addressing the media, expressed his belief that the charges brought against Alien Skin are baseless and merely an attempt to penalize him for his unconventional behaviour.

They should release him and he comes back so we do music.

The charges are fabricated; they are just using his unruly behaviour to punish him. I heard the allegations against him, and I decided to support him. I’m advocating for #FreeAlienSkin.

Lutalo’s comments come as fans and fellow musicians rally behind Alien Skin, with the hashtag #FreeAlienSkin across social media.

Dianah Nabatanzi slams critics demanding celebrities to have children

Renowned media personality and actress Dianah Nabatanzi is not happy with critics who continue to ask celebrities to give birth.

She stresses that such criticism is usually traumatizing to the people who are faced with such questions and believes that it is not right at all.

Nabatanzi also adds that some critics go the extra mile and start to accuse them of overusing family planning methods and abortion which she claims sometimes is not true as she respectfully asked them to stop.

She noted that since she has encountered several similar questions on her socials, she is no longer bothered by the comments.

The issue of critics demanding and pressurizing people to give birth I feel like it is not right at all. People should let others live their lives. Some resort to accusing others of overusing family planning methods and abortion yet sometimes it is not true.

With respect. I plead that we should leave that thing of pressurizing others. It is somehow traumatizing. Personally, I am no longer bothered because have faced a lot of criticism on social media about that and I’m now strong.

Dorah Mwima reveals the secret to maintaining a successful marriage and balancing personal ambitions

Dorah, wife to Nader Barrak, has opened up about how she manages the balance between her marriage and her passions, talking about what she believes is the cornerstone of a successful marriage/relationship.

In an interview with NBS TV, Dorah stated that the foundation of balancing marriage and personal ambitions lies in choosing the right partner.

First of all, you can’t be too much for the right man because the right man will also be too, too much to accommodate you as well. So one thing to maintain a healthy marriage is marrying right by having an open relationship and communication.

Marrying right means having an open relationship where both partners communicate openly about their expectations and challenges.

For her, the key is discussing matters before marriage to ensure alignment rather than leaving things to be figured out later.

Dorah Mwima was crowned Miss Uganda (2008-2009) and has since transitioned from a beauty pageant to a philanthropist and entrepreneur.
