Dancehall artist Shawn Storm has vowed to do whatever it takes to remain physically present in his daughter’s life following her success in this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams.
Storm was speaking during an interview at ZIP 103 FM when he revealed that he visited his daughter Kwashana’s school for the first time this week and had an even bigger wake-up call because it was memorable.
“Mi ah talk straight. Mi nah guh roun’ an’ pretty up nutten fi talk, bredda. Nuh do nutten fi guh no prison. Yuh life wasted,” he said. “A yesterday mi guh up a my daughter school, an’ she feel so glad because a di first her father eva guh school with her. Her peers always a trouble her an’ seh, ‘yuh father deh a prison’ yuh si mi?”
The deejay further said that because of his lengthy incarceration, he has missed many milestones in his daughter’s life. However, he is dedicated to making up for lost time.
“Suh mi seh who, step out fi mi yout! An’ mi see di joy pon her face an’ mi a seh bredda mi nuh want miss nuh more a dem moments deh. Two graduation mi miss out of her life. Mi nah miss nuh more,” Shawn Storm added.
Kwashana earned a total of six grade ones, three grade twos, and a grade four. Her celebrity dad was not phased by her failing grade in French.
“If mi love @kwashana_records 1 more time esi… yuh kno proud 😁… ‘oui’ don’t speak French in Jamaica suh mi nah watch dah 4 deh 😏 mi glad bag buss 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😆😆😅”
Shawn Storm, who was released from prison on July 31 after spending 13 years behind bars in connection with the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, has been making the most of his freedom with his child. He has shared highlights of them having dinner together, and she has even gotten him to participate in a TikTok trend.
Shawn Storm’s fans and other well wishers have been sharing in his daughter’s academic success.

On the note of CSEC success, Vybz Kartel’s daughter Adi’anna earned six grade ones and two grade twos.
