Thousands and thousands turned up for the annual Kagulu Rock Climbing Challenge 2024 led by His Majesty William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, the Kyabazinga of Busoga on Saturday in Buyende District.

The Kyabazinga was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Busoga Owek Dr.Joseph Muvawala.

Government dignitaries, including the area MP Hon Hassim Moses Magogo and Buyende District Woman MP Hon Mary Annet Nakato, among others graced the occasion physically.

During his speech, His Majesty Kyabazinga applauded the President of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for supporting the development of Busoga Tourism & Heritage Sites.

He thanked Maama Kadaga and minister of Busoga Tourism Owek. Hellen Olga Namutamba for the wonderful work they are doing in the kingdom.

Iseiffe Kyabazinga awarded Certificates of Appreciation to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs, Rt Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga.

The chairperson Busoga Tourism Board Maama Kadaga unveiled the increase in number of tourism sites from 35 to 45. The minister Owek Hellen Namutamba revealed that a tourism training school, installation of a cable car, modern market etc will all be established at Kagulu Rock Site.

During the event, Queen Kagoya Ann Lisa from Bugweri chiefdom was crowned as Miss Tourism Busoga 2024/25, Queen Kasuswa Jane Martha from Bunha chiefdom is the 1st Runners Up, Queen Nassimbwa Atika Shakira from Butembe chiefdom is the 2nd Runners Up.

Shon Wizzy was appointed as the Busoga Tourism Ambassador to further promote and celebrate the beautiful region. Miss & Mr. TikTok Busoga were also appointed.

Maama Kadaga, the Chairperson of the Busoga Tourism Board, generously donated gifts to the younger girls and boys who won the Kagulu Rock Climbing Challenge. She also promised to offer a full scholarship to Salima, the only Musoga female talented kickboxer.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the sponsors and everyone who attended and made this event a success. Together, we continue to uplift and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Busoga,” Hon. Hellen Olga Namutamba said.
