Dancehall star Popcaan has earned his eighth silver certification in the United Kingdom with Can’t Hold We Down, a 2019 collaboration with British rapper Kano.

The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) announced the certification on Friday (August 16), recognizing the track’s sales and streaming figures, which have now surpassed 200,000 units.

In the song, Kano flexed his Jamaican heritage as he reflected on his rise from tough circumstances, while Popcaan delivered a defiant and melodic chorus emphasizing gratitude for life.

The track also features a sample of Capleton’s 1992 hit Everybody, heard in the intro.

It appeared on Kano’s sixth studio album, Hoodies All Summer, which reached No. 8 on the UK Albums chart.

The family-oriented visuals have racked up over 10 million views on YouTube.

Several of Popcaan’s collaborations have achieved similar success in the UK.

His FIXTAPE single Twist & Turn, featuring Drake and PartyNextDoor, is also currently Silver certified.

Popcaan’s other UK-certified tracks include 2Cups with Tory Lanez and Fredo, Kisses for Breakfast with Melissa Steel, Come Over with Jorja Smith, Should’ve Been Me with Naughty Boy and Kyla, and I’m In Control with AlunaGeorge—each surpassing 200,000 units in sales and streams.

Additionally, Popcaan featured on Jamie xx’s I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) alongside Young Thug, which went Silver in April 2017 and was later certified Gold in December 2022.
