Richard Marx wrote his 1989 single “Right Here Waiting” as a love letter to his wife, Cynthia Rhodes, while she was away in South Africa filming a movie. Although Chris Stapleton co-wrote “Either Way” with Tim James and Kendell Marvel, he wasn’t the first artist to release it.
