After over a week in Luzira prison, singer Alien Skin whose real name is Patrick Mulwana, has been granted bail for cases of causing grievous harm to security and medical personnel of Nsambya Hospital earlier this month.

Alien Skin together with his bodyguard Julius “Julio” Mugabi appeared again at Makindye Magistrates Court on Thursday 28th November 2024 for the second hearing of their bail application which was denied on Monday.

In the court session which was flooded with members of the press and the singer’s fans, the judge ruled that the sureties presented by Alien Skin were substantial and hence he was granted bail.

The judge set conditions including not leaving the country without permission of the court. She also warned them against interfering with the victims in person or on social media.

The accused have been asked to pay a Ugx1M cash bail and Ugx5m for their sureties. The case is set to return to the court on 13th January 2025.

The Fangone Forest boss, alongside his gang, is accused of attacking Nsambya Hospital and beating up security guards and a doctor while demanding a medical report for their deceased comrade. Joram Tumwesigye.

The news of Alien being granted bail has stirred a debate online with his fans celebrating his freedom. Critics, however, continue to demand justice for the victims.

Police earlier confirmed that Alien’s team was in talks with the team from Nsambya Hospital to settle the matter out of court.
